Warrapunda Yearning: Synopsis

Having recently lost her mother, 20 year old Bindi Tomakin sets out to find her father. But it will be a long journey from her home on Warrapunda Station, near Alice Springs in Central Australia.

Father he may be, but this man and his family live outside Paris, France and he does not yet know that Bindi is his daughter. Sadly the thrill of the overseas trip and her first love affair is cut short when her mother’s partner Joel Houghton, suffers a serious heart attack.

Bindi’s frantic dash back to Australia to be by his side, turns traumatic when Customs discover drugs in her suitcase. She declares of course, that she has no idea how the drugs got there. Her treatment as an ‘Aboriginal Drug Runner’ shocks her to the core and she decides it will be easier to tell people she is a Maori or Cook Islander. Bindi vows to forever deny her natural heritage as an Australian Aborigine.

It takes patient support from Daniel, Joel’s accountant, to help her through her time in jail and the discovery that she is pregnant, while Bindi still worries over Joel’s worsening condition.

When Peter, her love interest in France, follows her to Australia, Bindi decides to reconcile and tell him about the baby.

But that’s not the end of the drama… not by a long shot! This story will keep you reading till the very end, hoping for a happy ending but things don't always turn out that way… do they?
