Meet the Author
Sarah Cook was born in Sale, Victoria, (Australia of course!) in 1954 as number six in a family of ten children. When she was twelve years old, her family moved from Traralgon (Vic.) to Millicent in the South East of South Australia.
She now lives in Adelaide with her husband Rodney, and has six adult off-spring, including three "steps" and at last count, sixteen grandchildren.
Sarah lived for many of her early-married years, (the first time round,) in the rural areas near Swan Hill, Moulamein and the Outback of South Australia, so writes from experience.
'Against the Odds' has been a very popular book that is still sought after. The bok is 85% fact and the majority of places and events in the novel are real. From Sarah's own experiences of life on the land, she gives you first-hand knowledge of this life of isolation.
If you ever wanted to increase your knowledge of rural Australia, but don't want to study, then this is the book for you. Both men and women will enjoy it, and 'Against the Odds' is suitable for all age groups.
Sarah's latest Australian novel, 'Warrapunda Yearning' has just been completed and is about an Aboriginal girl who travels overseas to find her father, with drama and romance throughout the book!
But an entirely different - and huge - project that she is heavily involved with, is co-writing the children's series, 'Lost Legend of the Tude Shifters'. The first of four storybooks has been completed, along with eight small books for pre-schoolers, called the 'I AM' series.
Currently, Sarah, and JaNelle Garner in the USA, are waiting for contracts to be signed before releasing too many details about the Tude Shifters!
Coming soon: 'The Tude Shifter Book of Answers' and the 'Tude Shifter Junior Book of Answers.'
Sarah is mother of Ziffy Keatley - Artist, and she is also an editor, a ghostwriter and an award winning author with her short stories and articles.
So many ideas, so little spare time!
